Hugo Eccles is an award-winning creative director who has worked with design industry giants Bill Moggridge (IDEO), Sir Rodney Fitch (FITCH) and Sir Terence Conran (CONRAN) who describes Eccles as “an intelligent and talented creative designer... a pleasure to collaborate with.”
Eccles is a Royal College of Art graduate who studied under Pentagram’s Daniel Weil and design superstar Ross Lovegrove. He began his career at renowned design innovation company IDEO, winning an IDEA Award for Design Exploration, amongst others.
After leaving IDEO to collaborate with Ross Lovegrove, Eccles founded his own London design studio in 1998. In 2003 Eccles emigrated to the USA to work with Sir Rodney Fitch. As FITCH's director of product development, he won nine awards in three years, including the consultancy’s first IDEA Gold in a decade. Eccles returned to London in 2009 to lead Studio Conran, the product, packaging and branding agency of Sir Terence Conran's design empire, which includes retail, hospitality and publishing.
In 2010 Eccles re-established the eponymous Hugo Eccles Design Office as an anglo-american design studio providing expert design services to an international clientele.
The office designs across industries and categories, from furniture and interiors to consumer electronics and concept cars, applying 20 years of experience to working with clients such as Alessi, Pfizer, American Express, Kartell, Ford Motor, TAG Heuer, Olympus, Honda and Nike.
