Interactive check in device for the elderly.
Second year design project designed to help maintain independence among the elderly, and keep them at home, rather than in an old peoples home.
The product consists of two parts, one stationary button and a keyring. The keyring is to be attached to the elderly persons keys and the stationary button remains in the home connected to WiFi. When the two counterparts separate from one another, the stationary button sends a text/email to the predefined family member/s. It will also send a message to let family members know they are home. Therefore if the elderly person doesn’t return home, the family members can track the keyring’s GPS signal. The idea of the device is to also encourage family members to contact their family more often.
