Student Fashion Illustration
In my approach to fashion illustration, I put a heavy emphasis on teaching students to choose their medium according to the effect they want to create. We talk a lot about marketing and how different demographics of people are attracted to different styles. This is a great way to make inter-curricular connections to social questions. A math-savvy art teacher could probably even make connections to marketing statistics, but not me!!
Prior to making illustrations we make mood boards and of course look at other established illustrators such as Mats Gustafson or Hayden Williams.
