User Experience Designer - Human Factors Engineering

Company overview: UL - Wiklund Research & Design (Life & Health) specializes in human factors - the art and science of developing user-compatible products, systems, and services.
My position: To support the development of medical devices and other products with user interfaces that protect against harmful use error, that are easy and efficient to use, and appeal to the intended users. Among my tasks I also evaluate a product’s interactive strengths and opportunities for improvement based on established HFE design principles and professional judgement. These design critiques can focus on a design concept, early prototype, working model, or finished product.
In addition I also attend client meetings to capture clients’ requirements and manage several projects together with the design team based in USA and The Netherlands.

Interaction Designer / European Web Design Coordinator

Company overview: Office Depot, Inc. is a global supplier of office products and services.
My position: I joined Office Depot after being approached by their Head of Creative Services in Europe to project managing the web design team, as part of the Brand Marketing & Communications department, responsible of all online and offline look & feel touch-points.
I worked as interaction designer on a number of key projects for Office Depot and Viking Direct. My role as Web Design Coordinator involved me managing the web design team, working closely with different professionals including e-commerce managers and internet specialists, account marketing managers, designers and technologists across the regional teams in Europe to drive traffic to the webshops.
Additionally I also provided art direction and guidance to designers and copywriters in order to deliver creative solutions that fulfilled the business communication and marketing needs reporting effectively to stakeholders and throughout all levels of the organization for their customers and services.

Interactive Designer

Company overview: ACHTUNG! Is an interactive design agency specialized in digital media and online marketing solutions.
My position: I was taken on in a senior role to head up the online design capability of the agency. I was responsible for some of the major clients’ designs such as Volkswagen, Skoda, O'Neill and some top Dutch brands. My role included; concepts, detailed interaction and UX designs from conception to presentation, information architecture, building prototypes in Flash for website developers and creation of banners & email campaigns for several advertising strategies focused on generating brand awareness, return on investment, reducing costs, and brand positioning.
The role was very hands-on and fast paced. In addition I also attended client meetings to capture clients’ requirements and managed several projects and service suppliers, as well as providing coaching and guidance to junior designers.

Visual Designer

Company overview: Havas Worldwide Digital (formerly Euro RSCG 4D) is one of the largest integrated marketing communications agencies in the world.
My position: I joined Euro RSCG 4D after being approached by the Creative Director who head-hunted me for this opportunity within the agency as part of a highly creative digital team. My role as visual designer was to conceptualize and visualize ideas which served to guide other designers, animators and developers into the implementation of digital campaigns.
I was responsible for working as the lead designer on a number of 4D’s key accounts, including Jaguar, Volvo and Rabobank. Working as part of a project team I was given ownership for the creative out put on all my accounts projects, ensuring the solutions produced met the user’s requirements and fully considered brand, design and budget integrity. From brand audit, to initial concepts, to detailed designs I was responsible for presenting my work and taking clients on the creative journey.
