These are linoleum reduction block prints which I did either in school at UCSC or later on. I guess you could say I got the art degree and became a cook and it was not until much later that I realized I might have done engineering from the start, no regrets though. I felt it was important to show these slides because the art I do is very much about the process and planning; registration, color selections, carving the blocks between printings. You could say the art form I chose is heavily dependent upon a process, much like engineering projects. I often think the art background helps me out just much as the engineering in terms of my career in helmet design. Most of my creative energy goes into making helmets so printmaking has all but stopped. I may get back into it after I retire from doing helmets.
