ASC provided design services as well as in house production for the heavy truck and motor home industries.
Responsibilities: Design concepts, concurrent engineering, design for manufacturing and production, full scale interior mock-ups.
Selected Projects:
Kenworth-Design Engineer
The Kenworth T-2000 was introduced at the 1996 Las Vegas Truck Show. Meeting requirements, providing deliverables, and meeting deadlines was truly a team effort for all departments. As part of the design team, I was responsible for all interior trim components forward of the B-pillar. Our original 90-day deliverable included several innovative concepts for systems that had yet to appear in truck interiors. Although ASC was not awarded production, the integrity of the design carried through to the final product.
Freightliner-Design Engineer
Working on-site at Freightliner in Portland, Oregon, I provided rapid turnaround for the design of molded headliners for the raised roof, extended cab, business class truck. The project went from concept to full-scale model in four weeks. These models were used to make prototype parts for the show truck, which debuted at the International Truck Show in Louisville, Kentucky. This was the first time ASC was given the opportunity to design a Freightliner interior. The success of this project awarded ASC one million dollars of business and the opportunity to design future interiors for Freightliner.
