I am Rodolfo Gonzalez, but for easier pronunciation, you can call me "Rody". For years we have married the word "creative" to artist. But, what is it "creativity"? There are many theories. Is a fireman, a secretary,even a CPA can be creative. Yes.
For over 12 years. Starting at Grey Worldwide (2001-2005) managing the Coors Light Account as a Creative Director of Promotions with only 23 years old. After that I was hired by Badillo Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi (2005-2007) to launch the newest Toyota model Scion to the Puerto Rican market.
Then life, came into place and i needed to take a decision a do not regret, but that i knew will, and it did, pause by career for 2 years. Something I have not regrets on. It gave me the opportunity study the ad industry looking from the woods the I decided to get my Master Degree in Graphic Design and Design Thinking
Realizing that my creativity usually do not follow the pragmatic guidelines that "creativeness" is expected for years to, I understand and make client also do, that when you think in an idea with an objective of solving a problem, using creativity and its platform to do it. Sky's the limit. Is the final idea, approach, campaign does not solve the problem, long or short term for brands, companies, people, society, institution. The is not use to is, Is not a TV Ad and that's that.
I say this because I am not new to this industry. I have seen the tops, the downs. This is not a fun game for me. Well it always it is, but now I can tell you without a doubt that this, no other, is what what I learned. what I want to do the rest of my life.
The incredible integration of social media to the creative thinking part of ad agencies today, have made me ensure me, that my previous experience will take a big part in my this future endeavor. I will do well in my change from a creative in promotions to a creative in advertising.
