Panos E. Gerakakis was born 1974 in Berlin, Germany.

He studied architecture at Universität Hannover, Germany, from 1993 to 2000, where he also worked as a student assistant.

After his degree he worked for architectural and interior design practices in Hanover, Berlin and Athens, amongst which 'Larsen Indoor Shop Design' and 'Coordination Berlin'.

2004 he joined the office of Takis Exarchopoulos, which he manages today along with Elena Exarchopoulou under the name 'exarchopoulou+gerakakis'.
