My forte is in drawing, graphic design, writing, marketing, hand sculpture in wire/clay/found objects and I have informal experience with teaching. Over the past 20 years I have accumulated a great deal of real world experience through freelance work involving everything from print, to sculpture, to set design, advertising and event organizing. My ability to design has never been limited by the medium I am working in. I strive to be a renaissance man of different materials to enhance my ability to think outside the box when given a project.
I spent 3 years working and attending Spokane Falls Community College, and it was there that i found my passion for all forms of art, with a focus in writing, theatre craft, and graphic design. While there, I had the pleasure of working for both the Communicator newspaper --where I won an award for my editorial cartooning-- and the Spartan Theatre --where I won an award for my acting-- but also did a great deal of sculpture in clay/porcelain/wire/wood/and bronze casting, set and prop designing/production, play writing, music composition, assistant directing, as well as designing posters, flyers, and other signage. I designed art and marketing, as well as writing/filming/editing videos for their shows/program, and student management for their Facebook, Youtube, and Twitter pages. I’m also knowledgeable in advertising/marketing theory, and in how to use social media as a vehicle to reach larger customer bases. The programs I’m most proficient with are Photoshop and Illustrator, but I have also worked with applications such as Indesign, Audacity, and Final Cut Pro.
The Society of Professional Journalists, 2010 Mark of Excellence Award for Editorial Cartooning- 1st place Regionally, Finalist Nationally.
I also won 1st place for my dramatic monologue, at the Idaho School Activities Board State Championship.
