Oversaw technical design for men’s underwear, sleepwear and loungewear for wholesale, e-commerce and private label accounts (Kohls, JCPenney, Fred Meyer). Trained two professionals on fitting techniques, garment construction, fabrics, sizing and specification writing using PLM. Spearheaded sample submit control for repeat styles and implemented procedure that simplified, reduced excess, costs, and time. Implemented technical design strategy, operations and methods, that led to increase accuracy and productivity while meeting tight production deadlines. Developed fit protocols and utilization of blocks and standards for company and private label brands that led to exceptional fit and high quality product maintaining budget. Coordinated fittings, model bookings for photoshoots, customer website messages, and samples for Magic trade show in Las Vegas. Mentored, casted vision and open communication among technical design team and across functional teams to drive improvement and innovation to enhance product quality, fit and process effectiveness. Negotiated for different product finishes to meet price point for private label brands.

Consulted and collaborated from project beginning to end exercising creative freedom and forward thinking approaches to brand building. Build relationships with CEOs, VPs, Design Directors, overseas vendors and retail partners, to implement processes, eliminate roadblocks and deliver on deadlines. Planned and executed brand development for startups achieving sustained growth of more than 20%. Supported initiatives with research on emerging trends providing product and market direction and technical innovation. Translated design vision and concept into clear tech packs that included flat sketch in different color ways and patterns, hand and technical sketch, construction details, bill of materials, specs and color cards. Recruited fit models, supervised fittings from development through production cycle. Provided expert fit direction, standardized specs and developed new body blocks establishing fit as a priority with intuitive understanding of brand and customer. Led factories to accomplish high craftsmanship and consistency in fit. Coordinated overseas factory development of luxury and novelty yarns, smart stitching details, fabrics, trims, construction innovations and finishing qualities within budget.

Head and sole designer of Essentials line. Rendered original sketches by hand and on Illustrator. Conceptualized, developed and presented seasonal trends for mood/design boards with complete color story. Provided print direction/concept and approved final print design. Communicated fabric selections managed fabric inventory and finished library. Created embellishment layouts including embroidery, beading, and appliqués.

Developed original prints/laces, selected fabrics/trims and followed trend direction. Worked directly with buyers to quickly create and modify CADs. Designed artwork, pattern repeats for prints/motifs, brush patterns and inserted colors into cads using Illustrator and Photoshop. Designed new body styles of baby dolls, chemises and body suits. Supported Senior Designer and Design Director in all aspects of design. Managed showroom operations in preparation for client meetings during market week.

Developed Calvin Klein’s standard brand fit for Men’s Outerwear Wholesale and Retail/ Better Specialty Retail (BSR) division to brand aesthetic for luxury retailers. Managed and maintained technical sketches of design changes and coordinated communication from concept to final production. Created and maintained lining qualities and finish library for future outerwear designs and special projects; including new leather goods line. Communicated development, fit specifications and construction to overseas vendors from initial concept to production through fit reports on Web PDM.
