I am a senior Industrial Design student at Appalachian State, currently serving as IDSA student president. In a group project, I won 2nd place in an international packaging design competition sponsored by AB InBev. I interned with TRS Prosthetics, designing and manufacturing prosthetics. My design incentive is to improve the life of individuals in shifting cultures. With my minor in Exercise Science, I hope to better understand physical human interaction associated with products.
I believe design should be used to improve human lives. I design to create fair opportunities for people of diverse identities and culture. Every culture and individual is unique. The human body requires the same resources to function at a basic living level but beyond that develop diverse living habits. These diverse habits develop due to a number of external factors. I believe in experiencing and researching these external factors to create products that can be assimilated into a culture and improve quality of life.
