My name is Alex Williams and I am a graduate at the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in advertising and have been working within operations, advertising, communications, and customer relations since graduating . I came into college as a biology major, but during my freshman year I was absolutely confused with what I should be doing with my life. When I found advertising my sophomore year I really fell in love with the creativity it allows, and the impact it plays on society. I have a lot of experience in advertising because UT Austin offers its students so many opportunities to network with agencies by doing real campaigns for them. I have done many marketing and advertising campaigns with agencies like Sanders/Wingo, and McGarrah Jesse, focusing on social media, guerrilla marketing, and media placement.
I love advertising because of the rush I get pitching to clients and the bonds that are built through working as a team with account planners, creatives, media strategies, and designers.
Besides my love for advertising, I really love art. Anything from drawing with pastel, pencils, and colored pencils to design work on Photoshop and Illustrator. Producing beautiful work helps me out day to day in my career path, but ultimately helps with just the daily grind of life.
