I am a US-based, Japanese born designer with a passion for creating meaningful experience through environmental and product design. I studied Industrial Design at Massachusetts College of Art and Design and recently graduated from the Products of Design (MFA) program at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. I am currently looking for a freelance/contract/full design position in San Francisco/NYC metro area.
My focus has spanned from toy to graphic design, and from retail environment to social design. I have designed environmental and product experiences for Lavazza Coffee, Best Buy, Geek Squad, Dyson, Electrolux, Swedish NATO Force and other non-profit organizations. My work explores a relationship between products, environment and experience and how the meaning of a product changes in a different environment and context.
I believe in the importance of community involvement and philanthropy. When I am not designing, I am an ambassador for the New York Road Runners and help others achieve their goals through distance running.
