Ernie Estrella

Ernie Estrella is freelance entertainment journalist with over 11 years experience covering community, entertainment, film, art, fantasy sports, video games, and comic book industries since 2001. Originally from the Great Lakes, Ernie is impassioned working in the world of entertainment having contributed to several entertainment and geek-centric websites and magazines. He has worked with companies such as Warner Bros., Universal NBC, Paramount, 20th Century Fox, FX Network, AMC, USA, Disney, Syfy, BBC America, DC Comics, Marvel Comics to assist with the promotion of their properties and talent in a variety of methods. In addition to holding freelance positions, Ernie is currently seeking a staff position as an entertainment writer, or in assisting a marketing or public relation firm.

Prior to his freelance work, Ernie designed for Get 1 Free Magazine creating ads for multiple national and local businesses serving the Greater San Diego area, and for University of Michigan on several campus-wide campaigns. He is skilled at Graphic Design with proficient skills in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Quark XPress and WordPress.

Ernie started out his professional career formulating and developing several national products as a R&D chemist for Sherwin Williams; communicated and assisted with marketing groups on selling products at National Sales Show; supervised plant implementation of formulas.

Experience in the analytic and scientific world worked both sides of Ernie's brain, makes him a flexible and resourceful problem solver who is a valuable resource for any team. He draws from his natural gifts as a creative artist and versatile work experience to meet goals in a distinct manner.

Ernie graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Polymers and Coatings with an English Minor. He later earned his Associate in Graphic Design from Washtenaw Community College. He resides in San Diego with his wife and 3-year old son.
