Step by Step, No-Words Procedure Illustrations
Using 3D CAD engineering models, images were arranged, exploded and manipulated to create the appropriate views. The 3D image files from Solidworks were then optimized and exported for further graphic enhancement and finishing using Corel Designer. All graphics were designed to require no supporting text in the final documentation, thus saving significant translation costs. Once completed, the sequentially-arranged graphics were then output to several print-ready formats and uploaded to an XML/DITA repository. The repository provided version-controlled access to the digital graphic assets by the technical writing team for final document assembly and global publication.
