I’ve had a lifelong passion for design and throughout my college career I have discovered that Industrial Design is my main focus. I've been actively increasing my understanding and education towards a career in Industrial Design. I’ve met with local designers, designed and built furniture, took classes towards a degree in Architecture, practiced sketching and conceptualization, and continued to developed my portfolio. Industrial Design is a perfect fit for me; it embodies all of the things I consider myself to be good at and really enjoy. I admire the process and all of the hard work that goes into creating a well designed object. The process begins with a great understanding of people and consumer behavior, and is ultimately the ability to create an attractive, functional product. Industrial Design is the essence of improving the objects around us, our environment, and everything we use in our daily lives thus making the possibilities endless.
My philosophy as a designer, is that a well designed object should demonstrate quality, functionality, and allow you to express your personal style. Great design should fit into a space rather than take it up, while enhancing the activities taking place. As a student, intern, and designer, it has been my experience that collaboration, attention to detail, hard work, and the reworking of ideas are essential for the creation of unique, innovative products.
