Doug Appleton

Doug Appleton is an illustrator & designer from Los Angeles. He has worked on a variety of projects from concept stage to completion, for advertising agencies, design studios, entertainment companies, toy companies and television & feature animation. His career spans over twenty years providing art and design for packaging, print and broadcast media. Clients include work for the Warner Bros. studio stores, Walt Disney, Kellogg’s Cereals and Mattel Toys. Doug’s work at Nickelodeon Television on the “Hey Arnold!” TV show and feature film earned him an Emmy nomination. Other shows include Sonic the Hedgehog, Captain Planet, Dennis the Menace and Double Dragon. He has produced licensing art for Popeye, Betty Boop, Bugs Bunny, Ninja Turtles, & the Flintstones. He works in both traditional and digital media expanding his work into storyboarding, key art and P.O.P. displays. He also creates original concepts and strong visuals for illustration, environmental art, and character design. Most recently he has designed art for the Mickey Mouse Club House show on Disney, the Explorer Girls show at Nickelodeon and the Generator Rex show at Cartoon Network. He also teaches and mentors art students in fundamentals, figure drawing, illustration and computer graphics skills.
