Hello, I am Kathy Lam. It’s a pleasure to meet you!
I grew up in Southern California and currently reside in the Bay Area. Ever since I was little, I have always had a passion to draw and to make things. In grade school, my teachers and peers recognized my artistic abilities and eye for design. Through hardwork and the support of my family, I pursued a degree in Art Graphic Design. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Arts and Sciences Art with Magna Cum Laude recognition in three and a half years from San Diego State University.

In my spare time, I love to challenge my creativity with making tangible goods. I find joy in making jewelry, polymer clay miniature food, and paper crafts. I also enjoy spending time with my cat, photography, gardening and hand-lettering. -

Clayware is an online store selling handmade polymer clay jewelry and personalized metal jewelry. I am responsible for ideating, creating, photography, photo editing, advertising, packing orders and customer service.

Senior Graphic DesignerOakland, CAFeb 2012 - Aug 2017 (5 years 6 months)FATHOM is an innovative manufacturing company with specialization in 3D printing and product fabrication. I was the sole in-house Graphic Designer for the company's branding and visual design communications. My duties included content creation for both print and web. I designed banner displays, decals, posters, brochures, menus, style guides, and slideshow decks to name a few. The position was hands-on, collaborative and agile.

Graphic DesignerSan Diego, CASep 2007 - Oct 2011 (4 years 1 month)Aztec Shops is a non-profit corporation and functions as and auxiliary of San Diego State University (SDSU). I started here as a student graphic designer. After graduating from SDSU I was then hired full-time. This is where I learned the in's and out's of being a creative designer.
I designed graphics for the SDSU Bookstore and SDSU Dining. My responsibilities include creating print and digital banners, menus, brochures and window displays. We designed and created the window display props and signage in-house. Attention to detail and excellent craftsmanship were a must. I learned how to use the company's 42" large format printer and vinyl plotter machine. I used these machines to produce campus advertising and informational communications on a daily basis.
