I have worked as a designer for various financial, pharmaceutical, educational, entertainment and publishing clients. As an art director I have maintained full-time and freelance staff and overseen complex projects often with tight deadlines.
I created my own design company, Artrouble, to produce record covers and related graphics.
More recently I developed an artist management company, Cavehouse Artists, that I operated for 4 years. I signed a Brooklyn based rock band to a six figure contract with London based music company One Little Indian. I managed tours, travel finances and logistics and dealt with the professional and personal issues of the band members.
Over the last couple of years I have worked with a number of independent record labels, traveled extensively through Central America and also produced a series of nine paintings dealing with the Maya civilization, a personal interest.
Whilst I still create graphics I am also seeking an administrative or management position that could make use of advanced design abilities and problem solving skills.
After the closing of the Soho News David was hired by The East Village Eye where he redesigned the publication and turned a struggling monthly tabloid into a vibrant forum for Downtown NYC. Sales and subscriptions grew as did the papers prominence.
Hired by High Times Magazine, a national monthly 4c publication. Subscriptions and advertising sales were down and the magazine was close to failure. With a change in editorial direction and an emphasis on a more graphically coherent layout and striking visuals to accompany articles the magazine soon started to attract more advertisers, gained more subscribers and increased readership. Ad revenues and circulation grew and the publication was put on a sound footing and continues to this day.
More recently David created and ran a personal management company, Cavehouse Artists, managed 3 bands, signed one to a six figure contract, booked and managed tours, organized recording, finances and logistics.
Currently David has revived his design company Artrouble, creating record covers and logos for a variety of independent music companies and musical groups.
