The apple does not fall far from the tree, no matter how hard it ignores the shade provided.
That shade allowed me to explore the mechanical side of things, the engineering that accompanies industrial design, and acquire hands on skills that only trial and error teaches you.
I see things through fresh eyes, often within the interaction of teams I have assembled to solve pressing conflicts, create new products or weld up an award for the best sharpie mustache. The joy of work and my passion to solve taught me many new things and new ways to capture the ideas that flow through a workplace. I have become the “go-to” guy for putting ideas down on paper, sorting through the ideas and pouncing on new technologies that bring ideas to life quickly.
The many products that came to see daylight throughout my career have been as varied as the art galleries of my youth, some technical, some artistic, all considerate of their use and manufacturing capabilities. I ideate, sketch, render, design, layout, assemble, propose, revise, worry and celebrate, using the shade created by a team, the shade I was provided, and the shade I can share with others.
