Lead Multimedia Specialist II
Austin, TX
Sep 2023 - Present (1 year 6 months)
In my current role, I write, edit, design and produce various digital and print materials. I take the lead on outreach projects and delegate assignments to team members. I have created several outreach materials, including Texas WIC’s outreach brochure, that engage prospective and current participants by providing information on our services and benefits.
One of my duties is to further Texas WIC’s social media presence by designing inventive, modern posts and videos to help increase public awareness of our services and nutritional information. I generate materials for social media outlets like Facebook, Instagram, X and YouTube. I draft the monthly Texas WIC social media content calendar and provide posts for HHS and Texas WIC local agencies to use on social media. I organize and create shot lists and storyboards for photo and video productions. I make and edit graphic design and digital media projects, including videos, using Adobe Creative Suite software and the Canva platform.
In Canva, I develop and manage the Texas WIC brand kit, brand templates and other resources for local agencies to create stronger brand recognition and customized materials. As part of this project, I conduct trainings on how to use our Canva features. I also gather agency feedback about these resources.
My work also involves laying out and creating content for multiple newsletters, i.e., Texas WIC Express and the WIC Wake Up. I develop and organize meetings, agendas and editorial calendars for the WIC Wake Up staff newsletter and communicate with the committee about upcoming content and deadlines. For the WIC Express, I originated the design of the newsletter and the layout guidelines. I help develop new ways to present the content effectively.

Jul 2020 - Sep 2023 (3 years 2 months)
As an Information Specialist, I wrote, edited, designed and produced various materials for print and online use. I wrote and edited content for a variety of literacy levels. One of my primary duties was creating and editing graphic design projects using Adobe Creative Suite software. My work involved proofreading and producing a variety of media for use by the agency and the public. I created materials communicating complex nutritional information and ideas to the general population. I worked with subject matter experts to see a project from inception through completion.
My work on the WIC Wake Up staff newsletter increased staff participation and readership. An important goal for the newsletter was to keep employees connected and involved. To meet this objective, I created the WIC Wake Up Committee, made up of members from each Texas WIC branch, to help engage their teams and contribute content and ideas for better staff engagement. I managed the committee, developed and organized quarterly meetings, agendas, editorial calendars, and communicated with committee members about upcoming content and deadlines.

Family Contact Program Manager
INTERNATIONAL ORDER OF THE GOLDEN RULE
Austin, TX
May 2016 - Dec 2019 (3 years 7 months)
In my previous position as the OGR Family Contact Program Manager, I managed a survey feedback program used by independent businesses. My job entailed successfully processing survey results using specialized software and creating reports that analyzed customer feedback to promote better business practices. One of my accomplishments in this position was implementing an online reports feature for the program, which involved testing, gathering feedback, operational research and staying within an allotted budget and timeline.
As program manager, I also achieved a company objective to increase revenue by creating and designing add-on products and services for members. This project involved competitor research and member feedback through surveys, phone calls and focus groups. One of the products I developed was a video production service to help members promote positive client feedback on their online platforms. This service involved using client testimonials to design videos for members to share on social media and other online platforms. Another service I designed and created was a series of informational brochures for members to purchase. I actively maintained website pages for the program and all its associated products and services.
Recruiting members into the program was also an important part of my position. I executed marketing and communication strategies aimed at increasing recruitment and participation. I developed all promotional and marketing content for the program, including brochures, email campaigns, social media, direct mail campaigns, flyers, magazine ads, videos, website design and website copy. I consistently wrote content for magazine articles, ads and blogs. When I began working with the program, it did not have any of the benefits, products or services that it currently has. The program was one of OGR's top member benefits because of these advancements.
