EXPERIENCE
TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATIONIST/HIGH SCHOOL ART AND COMPUTER GRAPHICS 2015-2016
Took on new leadership position in the district that enabled me to help k-12 teachers integrate technology into their daily instruction. Used SAMR framework giving teachers a guideline to follow while incorporating new ideas. This was a half time position that enabled me to continue teaching 2-D, Drawing, Painting, Architectural Drawing and Computer Graphics classes half the day.
HIGH SCHOOL ART AND COMPUTER GRAPHICS EARLHAM SCHOOLS 2010-2015
Accepted new assignment as computer graphics teacher after staff changes along with previous high
school art duties. Integrated technology into the art classroom as school instituted one-on-one Mac Book laptops in grades 7-12. Developed new curriculum for computer graphics classes with a basis in graphic design. Continued teaching general art classes while incorporating the students’ ever increasing technological knowledge.
HIGH SCHOOL/MIDDLE SCHOOL ART EARLHAM SCHOOLS 2006-2010
Taught all art classes from 7-12 grades. Emphasis in the creation of lessons to meet the needs of all
students. Developed and implemented new units consisting of glass fusing, jewelry, batik & tie dye while updating prior curriculum.
ELEMENTARY ART TEACHER EARLHAM SCHOOLS 2005-2006
Accepted new position as enrollment increased and mandated the need for full-time elementary art
teacher. Taught Pre-K through 6th grade. Developed a curriculum, lesson plans and incorporated reading into many lesson introductions. Collaborated throughout the elementary home rooms for cross-curricular educational theme units.
ELEMENTARY ART/P.E. EARLHAM SCHOOLS 2004-2005
Accepted the interesting position as 1/2 time art - 1/2 time P.E. for the Earlham Elementary Schools.
Worked with classroom teachers to develop schedules for both art and p.e. classes that would incorporate quality instruction and results. Enrolled in classes to better educate myself in the instruction of physical education for elementary students.
