Designed and fabricated custom wood ukelele display stands for Luna Ukes, a division of Luna Guitars and Armadillo Enterprises. The company was looking for a cool ukelele display unit that would serve as a sales incentive to kick off the new year. This was an excellent problem-solving opportunity.
Problem: Prior ideas presented to them by other companies presented three major problems - They did not put across the company's unique style and vibe; they were large, one- to two-piece units that were costly to ship due to being an "oversized" package; and did not allow for all ukeleles displayed to be visible from various angles.
Solution: I created a brand consistent unit that is 7' x 25" and made solely of interlocking wooden parts so it disassembles to fit into a 24" x 24" x 8" box which costs about $14 to ship. The columnar design displays 16 ukeleles visible from all angles. An added bonus is that it has no hardware, so no tools are necessary in the 15-minute assembly process.
