Dani Mc Ferran

An award-winning designer, I’m grateful to be enjoying a strong career in the international design community for some 16 years; currently Founder and Creative Director of Done and Dusted Design, Belfast, NI. We relocated to Manhattan, NYC - a temporary move to work closely with some of our USA clients whilst completing a series of lectures in the prestigious St Josephs University, Philadelphia in innovative food marketing, branding and packaging design. After this, we enjoyed a short stint in Dubai, UAE and more recently Copenhagen, Denmark.

My abilities and interests in the wide spectrum of design have taken me to many more creative places than solely graphics – I’ve designed mobile phones for LG Electronics in Dublin, Ireland; designed and manufactured lighting products for GE Plastics in Cleveland, OH; concepted wearable technology in a joint project with Compaq and Levi in Savannah, GA; developed new ceramics for the iconic Irish pottery legend Belleek Living, Ireland; have been design and brand manager at the 5th largest law firm in the world, Allen & Overy in Shoreditch, London, UK where I managed a team of 13 designers across London and Belfast; art directed photoshoots; created provocative copy in advertising for Fortune 500 companies; lectured in St Josephs University, PA and the University of Ulster, Belfast, NI; and even presented a series of global video conferences on the importance, relevance and impact of great strategic design for sustained business success in a volatile marketplace.

I work within my D&DD studio and also with other companies as a consultant, as a step-in advisor to other design companies' clients and also as a coach in presenting - I was one of three women who set up the very first Belfast TEDX talk, which you can view here: http://www.tedxbelfastwomen.com/team-2/

I believe in being honest and personal; creating a strong relationship with each client and following that through with solid design and marketing skills that best demonstrate how their business can truly prosper. We have a saying in the studio - we don't pull punches. We may challenge you because we care as much as you do about your results. That's what real team work means and is guaranteed for success. When it feels like our own business, we care for the success as much as you do.

I have headed up creative teams, some spanning several countries, where I work hard to inspire and encourage forward-thinking design and respect for each person’s role in a project. I work well alone with 1:1 clients and also within a team environment as a catalyst for creative thought.
