Principal Industrial Designer
Mesa, AZ
Mar 2009 - Jan 2019 (9 years 10 months)
I was responsible for production ready design for custom machined parts and assemblies. These included one-off solutions and full production parts. I handled all new product development and market research for over 25 in-house projects, including our multiple (5) successful Kickstarter projects. Every house branded product began and ended with my input and design. I designed all packaging and brand related graphics for our products, promotional items and marketing materials. I provided on-demand design services and sketching for customers to help flesh out basic ideas and needs in order to make production ready parts. I was responsible for sourcing parts and for establishing procedures for production, assembly and shipping. Early on I was tasked with all customer service, marketing, and sales, before training others to take over as we grew. There was little to nothing associated with any house branded products that I was not directly involved with. Everything from hot rod parts to writing implements crossed my path, and I loved all of it. I worked with Solidworks, Fusion 360, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Microsoft Office.
