My name is Dan Abrams. I am a Creative Director, a husband and a scratch golfer, although not necessarily in that order. I am an extremely driven and hardworking professional and I always strive to get the absolute best out of myself in whatever endeavor I undertake. I have a very high standard for myself, from the smallest things in my day to day routine to the biggest events in my life. When I take something on I always give it one hundred percent of my abilities and never settle for anything less.
I graduated college in 2005 with a BFA in Graphic Design from Briarcliffe College in Patchouge, NY. I landed my first job out of college in August of that same year as a Junior Graphic Designer for a cell phone importer called UTStarcom, based in Hauppauge, NY. Since then I have moved on to become a Senior Graphic Designer, then a Creative Manager guiding two other artists and now I am the Creative Director. My design style would be described as very clean cut and modern with an extreme eye for detail and attempt at perfection. I always prefer sharp lines and symmetry in my artwork and have been molded in this way by our customers in the cell phone market (Verizon, AT&T & Sprint). I believe due to my extensive experience with such large corporations I am highly trained and prepared to work with some of the most well known companies in the world. In my freelance endeavors I enjoy being able to show my ability to think a little further from this corporate element and love the freedom that it allows me. The one thing that I can always count on is that my designs will be accurate, they will be double and triple checked before going out in the final phase, and they will be as close to the desired effect as is humanly possible.
I am currently the Creative Director at Personal Communications Devices LLC. in Hauppauge, NY. I have been with the company since its inception in 2010 and I am well respected and trusted within the organization. From my direct superior the Chief Marketing Officer, to the two artists who work on my team, and everyone else at PCD I can honestly say the entire team knows that they can count on me whenever there is something they need from the creative department. In my years at PCD I have successfully created and planned multiple trade booth designs (most notably the CES show in Las Vegas each year), I have helped manage the accounts of the largest cell phone carriers in the US (Verizon, AT&T, & Sprint) and much more. I have successfully managed our brand and logo/color scheme through various outlets and materials and I have extensive knowledge in how to drive a brand forward into the market. After a year or two I started to feel personally responsible for each and every marketing document that left our building. The logo and colors became a part of my thought process and I guard them at every turn. My team and I design all of the internal documentation and templates for the company from PowerPoint templates, business cards & letterheads, yearly holiday cards, promotional items and a plethora of other materials. We have created successful launch kits and device posters for companies like HTC, Pantech, ZTE, Alcatel and more. The success and development of my team is extremely important to me. I spend time each week reviewing their work with them and developing additional skills that will benefit their careers. I truly enjoy coming to work each and everyday and love the challenges and rewards that working in the creative field affords me.
