Vanessa Mathews

My career has been unusually varied. From a Bachelor in Science (USyd) to graphic design and desktop publishing. I evolved from researching marine animals to researching graphics and typography. Nineteen years plus as a designer in both the University and Government environments has honed my skills in illustration, design development and desktop publishing. During my professional career, I have worked with all levels of management and staff to develop designs and offer solutions to evolving concepts. I have developed the skills to create innovative designs within strict institutional and corporate environments. Although, my work in marine science had me leading teams towards physical and scientific outcomes, in design I have worked predominantly worked or small teams. I have found through this experience I have developed the discipline to work within short time frames in order to achieve outstanding results. I have the ability to prepare design projects from concept through to outsourcing to printers and promotional merchandise companies.
