The Scrabble Folio Game really changed the way Hasbro thought about travel games. The original edition had fallen off in sales to just under 50k a year. My focus became modernizing the product to feel like other travel products at the time. I also wanted to make sure it could be played and then stored mid game because if you arrive at your destination, or your flight is now boarding, you don’t want to have to stop your game and clean up. The new product grew sales by 800% in the first year without any advertising. It has since had a few updates, but 13 years later it is still on the market.
