Immediately upon graduating college I was recruited by one of the largest 5 star hospitality furniture manufacturers in the world. This position introduced me to the exciting world of international manufacturing as I traveled throughout China and the Philippines going from factory to factory while managing a small group of talented designers located in the Philippines. This incredible experience opened my eyes up to a brand new world of creative possibilities that I never knew existed. It was a designer’s dream and little did I know that experience would later have such a profound impact on my life and would become the first of many the building blocks in my career. Upon returning back to the United States in late 2005, I accepted a project management and design position for a bamboo housewares company and I again found myself traveling throughout China, but this time I was responsible for overseeing projects that were being sold into the competitive markets of mass retail. Together, these two experiences allowed me to gain a solid understanding of international manufacturing and supply chain management within two different markets.
In 2006, while researching the home furnishings market, I unexpectedly stumbled upon an undeniable opportunity when I came across an unfilled niche in designer pet furniture. Between 2006 and 2014 I developed and launched two successful brands of designer pet furniture and have been internationally recognized as the founder of this genre of pet products. These brands have gone on to grace the cover of the Home Section within the New York Times Newspaper, as well as being presented Best Product of the Year Award at the world’s industry trade show and multiple Best Product of the Year Awards in variety of popular magazines. They have also been featured on television shows, thousands of magazines and can be found on the shelves of some of the largest retailers around the world.
