Penn State selected Colin Mosher at RMJM/Hillier to design a new student health and counseling center for its campus in State College, Pennsylvania. The new 66,000-SF (6,000-m2) building is located between student dormitories, academic buildings, and sports facilities, enabling ease of access from any point on campus. Located in a place of prominence on campus, the new student health center reiterates the university’s strong commitment to student health and wellness, while creating a welcoming environment for student treatment and education.The glass front and central location create an inviting, informal space where students may drop-in and schedule an appointment on their way to class. While passing through, students can grab a cup of coffee and be informally introduced to all the health-related resources available to them—such as online appointment set-up, a full-service pharmacy,health education resource library and seminar conferencing area.
