The goal was to create a floor lamp for indoor use with a design that could be changed. With inspiration from the worms capability to freely move its body in any direction ADAPT was created.
ADAPT is a lamp made out of sand blasted glass and white glazed porcelain consisting of five parts held together by magnets. The angled circular shape of the parts combined with circle shaped magnets allows them to rotate and transform the lamp. A function which makes it possible for the user to freely create a personal shape suited for different rooms and environments.
The integrated magnet makes it a knock-down product and also enhances the lamp as a decorative object, putting the material in focus. The rotate function and easy use of the lamp opens up for many different form combinations, making the user the sculptor.
