There is one variable has always been constant in my life- I am an artist with a specific talent for rendering the likeness of the human figure. I have had a passion for creating art before I even knew the correct term. Instead of calling my childhood masterpieces “artwork”, I preferred to simply say, “I made something.” While other little girls were asking for dolls for Christmas, my parents laughed when I requested tinfoil and tape, my medium of choice. My artwork steadily matured as I did, and throughout high school I took art classes every chance that I had, spending my study hall periods in the art room working on oil paintings and charcoal drawings.
When the time came to go to college, the Illustration program at Northern Illinois University was a natural fit for me. During my undergraduate experience, my artwork was published in Towers Literary and Creative Arts Magazine and featured at DeKalb Gallery. Although internships were not required for NIU’s Illustration program, I chose to further my knowledge with an internship at Brandtner Design, a small illustration and design company in Chicago. Since graduating college, I have worked in the field of art as a Graphic Designer and Print Production Manager at Dynamite Promotions and as Comp Manager of the Cookbook department at Publications International Ltd. I continue to paint and create artwork alongside my full time career.
