Christopher O'Connell

Ethicon has been a world leader in surgical devices for more than 30 years. As an Industrial Design and Human Factors co-op, I was involved in the full spectrum of design development, from blue-sky concept development to post-production marketing, on a variety of different projects. I participated in front-end research, product testing labs, and internal promotional materials. I developed product renderings, 3D SLA prototypes, and product photographs. Worked with engineers, marketing, pre-clinical, and a local model shop. Worked on projects for other JNJ operating companies.

Assisted the Industrial Design and Human Factors team with concept development, 3D CAD and 3D printing, product photography, and marketing and communication tools, such as posters, renders, and product graphics.

Responsible for designing furniture layouts, creating CAD illustrations and renderings, and communicating with furniture dealers via phone and email. Worked on 4-6 projects per week.

Scanned, printed, and put up new price signs, assisted customers on the sales floor, replenished merchandise on the shelves with merchandise in the stock room.
