I am a creative, open-minded person, so many ideas in my head waiting to escape.
I have been raised in an army family and military communities my whole life. My parents served in the United States Army. This gave me the opportunity to live in England and Turkey, and I was able to visit Spain, Italy, Germany, Belgium and France. Living in so many different cultures helped me to understand diversity. I feel lucky that I was able to learn about diversity from the military aspect.
What better example of diversity than the United States Army? Men and women from all backgrounds and turning them into a force that defends our country. A diverse community does not determine success by a person’s appearance, preferences, ideas or beliefs, but rather by what’s inside… the ability, the determination, the courage.
I’m thankful that I had this experience while growing up. I have become a well-rounded, open minded young man ready to listen to new ideas. I have learned to always let my peers know what the plan is and to include them in decision making. This helps to motivate everyone and get the ball rolling and keep it rolling when working to accomplish a task. I also, learned this from Mr. Thielsch, my Senior Seminar teacher in High School. I have the passion to create and I will achieve.
