BDES Industrial Design
University of Alberta
2012 - Currently Enrolled
The program at the U of A teaches several hands on skills. 3D modelling products are done using Rhino. We are introduced to several different manufacturing processes throughout our Degree. The program introduces students to CNC machines, 3D printing, wood working, thermal forming, welding and more. We are taught how to use these resources to produce physical products. The BDES program has two major fields of studies; Visual Communications Design and Industrial Design. I chose to focus on the Industrial design route taking both furniture and product design courses.
