Designer. Maker. Student. Artist. MIT. Architect. Foodie. Traveler. A little bit silly, a little bit serious. Cecile Lu.
I've always been a designer and a maker. I designed my first website at seven years old after self-learning Adobe Dreamweaver and created the front page and roll over buttons with MS Paint because I wanted a platform to publish my stories. I designed Chinese traditional wear and made them out of polymer clay when I was eleven. I designed a handle for a touch-screen device and became patented when I was fourteen. I chose to study architecture at MIT because it was the only course of study where I could explore and grow my talent for design and learn more about creating products for a user. Architecture is a beautiful combination of multiple skill: through it, I design spaces built specifically for user interactions while taking into consideration and designing around the constraints set by the environment and the client.
In my free time, I like to read, take pictures, learn new softwares, make toys and clothing, dance, organize everything, and dress in my panda onesie to amuse my roommates. I like to laugh, and I like to make other people laugh.
