As a design management researcher, I was trained to understand how products are developed from the managerial point of view, thus complementing my technical background as a designer. I had the opportunity to be involved in theoretical research as well as in practice (as a consultant) of design management, helping companies to improve their product development process in order to develop successful products.

Designer
Feb 2008 - Mar 2011 (3 years 1 month)
Main activities: Environmental design, wayfinding design, urban furniture design, product design, architectural projects and interior design.
At Oz Design, one of the top design agencies in Brazil, I was involved in nationwide projects for renowned brazilian companies. I had a highly valuable experience as both an architect and designer, and learned to make decisions in a fast pace environment. My assigned responsibilities gave me the opportunity to practice spatial and graphical skills applied to the whole design process (from design conceptualization to production monitoring). It is also relevant to point out that working at Oz design was an important opportunity to experience working as a member of a large design team, which made me learn a lot about cooperation and process integration.

Consulting for bike sharing system development at University of Sao Paulo was an exciting opportunity to manage a complete design project. I was responsible for product design as well as branding and graphic material development. We successfully faced such challenges as how to prevent vandalism and how to obtain a rational and modular product to attend the bike sharing system needs.

Main activities: Product design and graphic design.
At Etel Interiores I have learned a lot about high quality brazilian native wood furniture design. There, I also researched on sustainability criteria applied to furniture production chain for my Bachelor Thesis. I had the opportunity to adapt their production line to reuse leftover raw material, and developed a furniture piece (a table) as an example of what could result from the new production line.
