Toys R Us Bike Shop Concept

In this concept for updating TRU retail stores, they were re-imagined as a ‘Cities of Toys’ where large product groups are contained in metaphorical buildings and structures, with aisles as the streets. Each ‘building would have unique branding and integrated layered experiences specific to its product family. Having the largest footprint, Bikes & Ride-Ons was logically the first department to which to apply this concept.

After the famed retail chain declared bankruptcy in 2018, plans for updates were put on hold. The form language of this concept was later applied to the facades of the two new locations of the reborn brand in Paramus, NJ and Houston, TX.
