As Designer/Art Director for our graphic design business specializing in the development of creative brand strategies and marketing concepts, I direct projects from conception to completion, working with clients to set project goals and guidelines, implement and execute design concept and content development, create design elements, collaborate with marketing teams and developers, coordinate and oversee the printing process, and direct outside photographers and illustrators. I specialize in developing creative cost-effective solutions: brand strategies, identities, print and online advertising, websites, print and electronic publications, annual reports, trade show displays, magazines, catalogs, package design, visual merchandising displays and signage for product and service industries including: retail, B2B, corporate, industrial, and educational.

As Senior Designer at IDC I gained invaluable experience in account management and customer service. I enjoyed working directly with a variety of clients to establish design concepts, project goals, guidelines and specifications. Overseeing each project, I was responsible for creating and presenting designs, coordination and creative direction for photographers, illustrators and developers, coordinating printing and scrutinizing printer’s proofs to ensure print quality. Projects included: brand identity, brand development, retail advertising campaigns, visual merchandising displays, trade show displays, website design, magazine design, annual reports, brochures, and collateral materials.

My career at the OSBA, is the foundation for creating cost-effective, consistent and accurate design solutions. Starting as Graphic Designer for the affiliate, Ohio CLE (Continuing Legal Education) Institute, I was responsible for the design and production of collateral and promotions to support the over 100 continuing legal education seminars and publications produced each year. When Ohio CLE Institute merged with the OSBA, my position advanced to developing creative design solutions for the entire bar association. I trained and supervised staff to assist in the production of projects, and was promoted to Graphic Design Manager. Projects included: brand identities, brochures, displays, ads, website design, electronic publications, presentation materials, and course reference materials.

As a freelance designer for a variety of clients, notably: Goodwill Rehabilitation Center, Coin World Magazine, The Cannon Group, I designed and produced final art for logos, print ads, brochures, promotional product/bag design, and flyers.

As Graphic Designer at LiquaBox I designed product spec sheets, product promotions, collateral materials, trade show displays, annual report, and package design. This is where my introduction to computer graphic design began.

At Apple Displays I designed and sold retail displays utilizing our warehouse of display materials to create in-store environmental display designs, signage, window displays, assembly and set up of physical product and retail displays.

Originally hired as a Proofreader, my experience in design and print production allowed me to expand my duties to assist in the production for the Ohio State Bar Association Reports publication, and design and production for internal publications and promotions. Duties included typesetting, proofreading, layout, paste-up of final art and worked directly with the in-house printing dept. to further my knowledge the printing process.

As Graphic Artist at OBES, I designed and produced a variety of brochures, flyers, ads and pamphlets to promote the Employment Services offered by OBES. My work required typesetting, design, layout, paste-up, and prep of final art. I also worked directly with in-house printing dept. to gain knowledge and oversee the printing process.

This freelance apprenticeship position as Graphic Production Artist, began in high school with design and production for publications, ads, flyers, brochures, this was old school graphic arts, typesetting, layout, paste-up, etc. This is where I gained a working knowledge of pre-press production and an introduction to understanding the printing process.
