This hobby business evolved from my love of shopping thrift stores, antique malls, resale shops, garage sales, and even trash picking to find vintage treasures. Accumulating more than we could use and not wanting to hoard these treasures, we listed items for sale on Craig’s List and eBay and eventually created an Etsy Shop and Facebook Page. Having an eye for curating mid-century modern pieces, I applied that style to the branding. The name Mid Mod Squad, is a hat tip to the late 60’s/early 70’s TV series. The logo identity uses a mid-century modern color palette, with extra-wide, bold, seriffed logotype, overlaid with intersecting angles to create the atomic style starburst, with the script tagline “Live the Good Life!” Banners for the Facebook Page and Etsy Shop use an image of a forest green diamond quilted vinyl upholstered couch, styled with round pintuck pillows, with wall graphics to incorporate the logo and the tagline, exemplifying the spirit of the mid-century modern age.
