Everyone has a story, this is mine...
Over the course of my childhood and teen years I realized that I was not meant for the usual 9 to 5, or any version of it. By the time I had completed high school, I knew what my passions were, but I had no idea how I could pursue them all and support myself in doing so. The challenge was clear to me, the way through was not.
In 2006, after 3 successful years working as a visual merchandizer and showroom decorator, I determined I was meant to be an entrepreneur. I set out to learn the ways of building a creative business and began the journey by serving as my own wedding planner. Eight years later I had added women's clothing swap event coordinator, burlesque performer, costume designer, professional organizer, color consultant, graphic designer, professional gift wrapper, landscape designer, interior decorator, and furniture designer to the list of things I had done or become. I had also spent two years working part time as an elementary after school counselor and returned to college only to leave one semester shy of an Architectural drafting associates degree, and one year shy of a bachelors in...something.
When I stepped back from all of my obligations in 2013, so that I could re-evaluate my trajectory and check my hearts compass, I had a lot of experience to reflect on and learn from. I spent a year redefining what being a creative entrepreneur means to me, discovered a whole new world of possibilities, and am currently building a lifestyle blogging and design business.
All of my whimsical wanderings have enabled me to build a soulful business that demonstrates how to thrive as a multi-passionate creative solopreneur. It has taken two paradigm shifts and a few melt downs to get here, but I am filled with gratitude, awe, and confidence as I take the next steps of this adventure.
So welcome to my madhouse, where wandering is encouraged and perfection is over-rated (along with choosing a niche and being a specialist).
