Developing ground breaking new products across multiple categories by utilizing true consumer insights and intelligent design from concept and strategy to delivery, I oversaw the planning, design, sourcing and launch of these lines. I managed and mentored a team of 8 industrial designers, partnering with 6 graphic designers and 3 packaging designers. As the liaison between 3 campuses and multiple teams, I initiated a new level of collaboration and cross-disciplinary project approach. I served as Strategic Product Champion to internal and external stakeholders.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS: I developed strategy and oversaw the launch of an average of 80 new products annually, with a 97% average on-shelf hit rate and increased revenue, EBITDA and Market Share YoY. I drove cross-functional collaboration, ensuring new product development initiatives were on time, on cost and on spec within specified budgets. I identified a significant opportunity for entry into a new product category through a full hydration line and traveled worldwide to oversee design, factory selection, sourcing and production. Our team achieved concept to market at top U.S. retailers in 1 year and doubled YoY sales. I managed the product development team and process, averaging 5 months from concept to market time which is below industry average of 9 months. I also oversaw application for 20-30 patents per year, based on project scope and deliverables. I directly assisted our rebranding initiative to revitalized this 70-year-old company, including brand definition, target audience profiling, product line specifics, product symmetry and new logo.

I oversaw the design direction and strategy for this $83M consumer products company, directing development, product line integration, brand strategy formulation, re-branding, and identification of market/category gaps. I supervised 5 industrial designers, 2 graphic designers and China-based engineering and manufacturing teams. I participated in qualitative focus groups, quantitative surveys, and consumer panels to drive the creation of consumer-influenced designs. I also managed the product pipeline, identified consumer segments and product opportunities, defined brand parameters, and conceptualized product opportunities.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Working with the President/CEO and VP of Marketing & Retail Professionals, I created new product pipelines, led all design and product development reviews, and established timelines and way-points. I enhanced brand recognition by creating a unique look and feel for all products, including several patented features/elements and a custom visual brand language. I ensured compliance with all quality and engineering standards by overseeing the entire product development process, including tooling, prototyping, pilot runs, and production in Asia. I delivered increases in cost efficiency and quality by working with US and China based Engineers on tooling improvements. I was actively involved in the design of the support structure necessary to manage our rapid corporate growth and played a key role in the development of custom CRM software for project tracking and management.

After multiple promotions from Junior Marine Designer, I carried out the design and execution of our full line of exotic offshore powerboats, including one-off custom designs for vital clients. My responsibilities included overseeing the complete design process for hulls, decks, cockpits, and cabins as well as interior designs, paint schemes, merchandise, and advertising concepts. I also developed working prototypes and managed customer relationships.
Accomplishments: I expanded the company's product line by adding four additional models and three product line extensions, established a brand identity, and facilitated consistent sales growth year-over-year.
