This was a group project for Industrial Design 3 with Cale Kaufman. This project centered around composting at community gardens, as there are a large amount of these gardens in the Bay Area, that have composting onsite. After a lot of onsite visits with various gardens and users we were able to find a solution that would not alienate users of any age. By integrating new technology into an existing practices we were able to give users data that was vital to the development of their compost pile. Allowing them to track heat and moisture, the two components that are instrumental in the decomposition process.
