Each of the symbols on the crest have a special meaning to our members, their relationship to the Fraternity, and the mission of our organization within our college or university band.
This picture shows all of our members as of 2013. We may not be the largest fraternity at Iowa State University, but I love each one of them and wouldn't trade them for any other because this is my "family".
Each year we give out bids to prospective members (PM's). We then take them out to a nice dinner somewhere in ames to treat them. This is only one of our traditions of our PM process.
Through the PM process, each person is assigned a "big" (me) to act as there guide and mentor. We teach them about our history, and more about the fraternity to prepare them through our initiation process. I am very proud to be a "big" for the first time this last school year.
As for the service portion of the fraternity. We help the bands in more ways than what people think. We help out at Football games, usher concerts, raise money for the bands by working at the basketball game concession stands, and rake peoples homes for leaves to help the people of Ames out. These are only some of the ways we serve the band and the community. Each year we do a little bit more to do our part.
If we have a visiting band at the football games, we will hopefully be able to mingle with some other "brothers" from different chapters from around the nation (im taking the photo). I am proud to be a brother of Kappa Kappa Psi.

Kappa Kappa Psi - Iota Omega

Kappa Kappa Psi is the national band fraternity that exists to promote the college bands throughout the united states. This fraternity is open to both men and women as it is a service fraternity rather than a social one.
