This is a picture of my first day of work at general mills with my sister and my father in 2010 (Rebecca and Gregg). At this time I worked for the Cereal Maintenance department under the team leaders, my sister held a Continuous Improvement research Job, and my father is a Quality Engineer for the Fruit Department and for the whole plant.
I am unable to take any pictures of inside the factory for confidentiality sake, but I was allowed to take a picture by a tool wall of the Cereal Maintenance Shop. This is trying to show exactly what scale of machines I was in charge of fixing and monitoring.
This view is from the top of the roof of the plant with one of my coworkers that I met on my first summer working there. Currently, this is only the second floor roof, while the cereal plant goes as high as 5 floors worth of roofs. This plant in particular is the largest General Mills plant in the United States with having three departments (Cereal, Fruit, and Desserts).
This is the most current picture of me working in general mills (summer 2013). In it is the "Three Musketeers" (all my siblings). My brother (steven) and my sister (rebecca) both worked as Continuous Improvement employees for the Fruit Department while I was promoted to work as a Reliability Engineer. My job is described more in my work history, but in summary, I worked on every machines lubrication information for the whole factory. Here I have learned invaluable skills that I will take with me wherever I work in the future.
