I worked as an editor at Time Out New York and Maxim Online. I've written articles and blog posts for both publications, as well as short freelance pieces for New York Magazine, Maxim Magazine, The New York Post, Nerve.com and more.
As a performer for ten years, I created an hour-long solo show of comedy and music, tailoring my set to different audiences at colleges, clubs, festivals, cruise ships and appearances on HERE TV (national cable), Sirius XM, and many popular comedy podcasts (Put Your Hands Together, Keith & the Girl, Feast of Fun). I produced an award-winning music video. I also co-wrote, co-produced and starred in a short comedy film and web series called Spooners that won the prestigious Space Needle Award at the Seattle International film festival. I wrote and hosted a monthly live game show in New York City. I produced a monthly show at the Ace Hotel in NYC called Big Band Hot 100, leading an 11-piece jazz band through covers of the Billboard Hot 100.
For all of these performances I secured publicity, including a half-page photo in the New Yorker, and full-page photos in Time Out New York and The Village Voice. I wrote countless press releases and managed two successful Kickstarter campaigns.
I'm looking for opportunities to put my skills to use in copywriting and editing projects.
