I am a designer and a researcher interested in both designing meaningful solutions (products, systems, and related services) and own tools and approaches for creating solutions. The most important aspect of design for me is how it affects people. I am passionate about how design can serve societal development. Therefore, I am also interested in Actor-Network Theory, Design-Driven- and Societal- Innovation.
During my final bachelor project, I developed an innovation approach in which creating value propositions for the future is based on obtained insights from analyzing the past. When doing so I call myself an Dialectic Designer. I analyze evolution of artifacts and people to understand and define the pros and cons of the current state of a phenomenon [e.g. experiencing music]. Based on these insights, I envision the future and make feasible tangible proposals to people, society, and organizations [e.g. see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zhvgZVOXD8]. This way I am using design to develop, protect, and recover phenomena.
In my final master project I created a process for designers to initiate open innovation with multi-stakeholder. Moreover, by embedding co-reflection in the design process I enabled designers to both design for (designing) and design with (facilitating) stakeholders. This process was applied and evaluated in a real life multi-stakeholder case in which a health, wellbeing, and good life innovation collaboration platform was designed for a client in Finland.
