About Farbod Naimi:
Farbod graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina in the summer of 2020. As a student at Appalachian State University, Farbod continuously worked towards his personal and professional goals. Farbod has worked as a transportation design intern for El Dorado National - CA, a custom bus manufacturer and subsidiary to REV Group INC. Farbod’s goal is to work for an automotive company where he can use both aspects from design and business to positively influence the brand. As a young automotive aficionado, Farbod fell in love with the Swedish car manufacturer, Saab, at a young age. He now owns two beloved 93s that he admires for the design marvels they are. He has owned and restored a total of nine Saabs as he believes the only way to keep the now defunct car brand alive is through its remaining vehicles on the road. He uses his love for the Scandinavian brand to fuel his passion of automotive design, while keeping the Saab brand alive and well for the ideologies they presented as a manufacturer.
Farbod's Philosophy:
If a design is not to test boundaries, is a designer truly successful? Design should constantly follow the idea of boundary crossing. Good design is good design, however, great design comes from crossing lines that may seem daunting to the rest. As a designer, it is my responsibility to continue testing boundaries so design can challenge the norms of traditionalism within the industry.
