Aoife Balfe

I am a Dublin based artist and educator working in the field of animation.

My creative practice encompasses life drawing, animation, and compositing, with a particular interest in how these practices intersect and combine. I have over a decade of experience in the animation industry in Ireland, working as a designer, illustrator, animator, and compositor on a wide range of commercial projects, short films, and art projects. I am particularly interested in atypical animation methods and non-industrial modes of production.

I began my educational career as a workshop facilitator with Paper Panther, teaching animation to children and young adults from ages 3 to 20. I continue to share my knowledge and experience with the next generation of animators in Ireland at IADT Dun Laoghaire.
