Final collection board complete with color blocked images constructed in Photoshop using the fabric designs to scale, final color pallet using Adobe Color, and a hand drawn logo I made in Illustrator. The textile design names felt OH SO appropriate for a beach lounging collection. Which is your favorite drink?
This is where the collection thought process started! Starting mood board showing my initial color pallet and my hand drawn sketches depicting images of lemon inspired art I hand drew based on where the "principle and element of design" words intersected
Image trace in Illustrator of the hand drawn lemon leaf image from the mood board
Hand finished repeat image in a half drop pattern. The coloration was determined after the color pallet was finalized and meticulously placed to ensure even weight in the design. Final graphic is scaled to 5" X 5"
Proof image of the final half drop repeated lemon leaf
This original drawing was made using rolling a lemon in Indian ink to make the print. I image traced the texture using contrast manipulation in Illustrator.

This image has about 5 layers of different opacities and color gradations. I layered each one to ensure an overall feel of a lemon skin. Final graphic is scaled at 15" X 15" to reflect a more textured feel. Almost like being camouflaged by a lemon
Eye Spy - Can you spot the lemon within the lemon skin pattern? Proof image of the Lemon Skin pattern. I made this coloration very yellow forward knowing it was to be paired with a sheer fabric where the colors would be toned down.
Image trace in Illustrator of the lemon script I drew on my initial mood board
Not just a word (with backwards N) - I incorporated lemons using my painting skills in Photoshop and Illustrator, and brought in pops of grey and blue. This script graphic is packed with layers and depth while still feeling fresh. The gender neutral design is extremely versatile! Final graphic is sized at a 7" X 7" scale

Squeeze Me - Digital Fabric Collection & Color Blocking

By developing an ideation board with the theme "Lemon", I made a grid of the elements and principles of design and created an image that depicts each intersection. I matched these images up with the mood and coloration I wanted to portray in my collection. Scanning in the hand drawn sketches into Illustrator, I was able to trace and develop repeated designs which I meticulously colored and layered to achieve the optimal effect. With the leaf pattern, I continued the same feel by finishing the half drop design with hand drawn repeats achieving a continuous look. Making sure to size the graphics to the pieces I wanted to present them on and researching the exact fabrics/ opacity, I color blocked the textiles for the final product representation. Think fresh beach wear to make you pop while burying your toes in the sand. All with a refreshing glass of lemonade in your hand.
